hi guys!

So I applied in early August and I have only heard back from 2 schools. Does anyone have advice on what to do with the other schools? Should I call, e-mail? I really want to give myself more options. Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

At this point, I think sending a professional letter of intent would definitely help if anything.
Even to the schools I havent interviewed at? I have one interview coming up and I interviewed a couple weeks ago at a different school but havent heard anything since then.

How much time would you give after the next interview before beginning to prepare yourself to apply again next cycle? I am hoping I won't have to get to this point but I want to prepare myself if thats how it turns out.

Yup send one even to the ones you haven't interviewed at cause you really have nothing to lose at this point. Give yourself till official rejections to prepare for reapplying. Honestly, if there's one thing I learned in this process it's that they do keep looking at your app. Didn't hear from BU since August and just got an invite last week. So they're looking. But keep the reapplying thought in the back of your head and continue beefing up the extracurricular till next cycle opens. You honestly have a good GPA and not too bad of a DAT. I just think your bio and TS score/other extra parts of your app may be holding you back but really just keep doing extracurriculars cause 1. You'll have something to update the schools and 2. You'll be better off incase you need to reapply.

Have you written them one and they responded with an e-mail? I wrote one for Tufts and they responded but I havent heard anything else and I am not sure if I should e-mail them again. Its been about a month since I sent it.

Excuse me, do the dental schools in US for foreign trained dentists require the evaluations from biology and chemistry from the high school ?

yup. BU has interviews twice a week. 10 students each group. too bad no wednesday interviews...wednesday is quesadilla day. quesadilla good....salad bad

Okay so I just got rejected from Rutgers. I participated in their Gateway to Dentistry program so I thought I had a chance, I guess not. I had an interview with Touro a couple weeks ago and I have one with BU next week. I am super nervous that I will end up having to apply again. I havent heard from 7 schools at this point. (Buffalo, Tufts, Temple, Meharry, Maryland, Stony Brook, NYU). Any advice on what steps I should take?

I did the same. I'm about to send another one this week. The time is running out.

I'm sorry you're in this position of worrying. But, tufts and NYU are definitely going to be interviewing for some more time. I don't know about the other schools, but those two are for sure. Maybe for NYU you can send them an update/intent letter. And at this point, all you can and should do is focus on the BU interview. It sucks but that's what's at top priority for you right now. Touro took a month to send me my acceptance so don't feel like you automatically got rejected/waitlisted if you don't hear back for a few weeks from them.

There are endless factors that go into admission, but your stats don't look bad at all. Maybe the 17 in BIO is a turn off, but overall you're pretty solid. I can give you advice via PM if you want to send me your PS.
