my science GPA is going to be anywhere between a 2.4 and a 2.6, but my nonscience GPA is a 4.0... so it averages out to be like a 3.35-3.45. I am in my second year and I am wondering what legitimate chances I have...

you're in your second year, so you've got plenty of time to up that science gpa. since there's such a huge disparity between your science gpa and regular gpa, it sort of looks like you're bad at science, which is not ideal for a future medical student. get it above a 3.0, do well on your mcat, keep the regular gpa fine, and you should be okay.

In my experience, lower tier science classes (those that you have likely taken in your first 2 years so far), are the harder, weed out classes. At least they are where I go to school. Just keep taking those sciences, and the classes will get easier (except biochem 🙂).

Ive found this to be true as well. Plus for your third year youll be even more motivated! (i hope) either way, you should be fine

i'm a non-science major though, so i'm only taking the pre-reqs as a pre-med (to have more options after college) so the problem is i only have like physics, genetics, biochem, and statistics (or calc) left...and it just seems like it only gets more difficult from here so lord knows whats going to happen...

You've got two more years to improve. As long as you can bring the science GPA till 3.0, you'll have a shot at DO schools. It will also help that you do well on the MCAT as well.

Hey Omid, take Physics at UT Dallas over the summer with Rasmussen. She's a great teacher, you'll make an A, and it transfers really easy to UT.
