What To Look For In A Practice

I have read advice from the boards here as well as from various ODs themselves advising that I begin looking for a job as soon as possible; meaning I should begin looking while in the first few years of OD school. I have even been informally offered a job by my mothers employer (an OD, obviously) who is currently beginning to expand his practice.

So what should I be looking for in a practice? When will the practicing ODs begin to take me seriously (I start school in August). What kind questions should I be asking? Any specific figures I should ask about?

I think it's a little too early to be looking for jobs at this moment......you haven't even started optometry school yet 🙄

lol, I know. I'm not looking yet. But it would be good to at least start thinking about it! I will probably start trying to find a job towards the end of my junior year or so...
