Does anyone have advice on how formal/informal to dress? Would it be bad to come in with jeans and a knit sweater (that's my plan as of now...)? I don't want to over-kill, but at the same time want to make a decent impression.

The event is hosted by the program and doubles as a Q & A session for accepted students.

Any input would be helpful!

I would go kinda business casual so not jeans and a sweater. I would wear a dress shirt with Khakis a belt and probably just my black and white nikes.

I agree with cmquin12, jeans are a no-go. I would just wear some nicer pants and a dress shirt. This would definitely not be over-kill! Although you are already accepted into the program, you still want to make a good, professional impression and represent yourself well 🙂

I am not sure if this helps but I had an accepted students meet up yesterday and everyone there was in hoodies and T-shirts besides me. So I guess it can depend on the program.

Went to the meetup today and everyone was business casual! I guess it's better to play it safe 🙂

My program sponsored a meet-up the other day and got us all pizza. It was us 2nd years and the new, incoming first years. Very much a pajama party. It was in between classes, my class had to wear lab clothes anyway (shorts/bra tops, which means we usually just wear sweatpants and whatnot over them), so almost everyone was ranging between jeans and sweats. Definitely depends on the program and setting.
General good advice is - when in doubt, overdress vs underdress.

"General good advice is - when in doubt, overdress vs underdress" is definitely the theme of this thread!

Business casual was perfect for the meet up I had at Arcadia. Thanks everyone 🙂
