I know this had been talked about a little, but I thought I'd try and get another opinion...

I'm on the wait list at MSU COM and I'm going to visit the campus...I was wondering if a suit was necessary? Or if a shirt and tie would be fine? The reason I ask is because I literally do not own a suit 😎

Alright, thanks

You already interviewed, so business professional should be fine. Slacks and a polo shirt or shirt/tie.

That's what I figured...but as a side note, I didn't need to interview for MSU COM...do you think this would change anything? Considering this will really be my first impression there?

Since you didn't have an interview, I would go with a shirt/tie. It's better to be overdressed instead of underdressed.

I agree with the above poster then, a shirt and tie just in case.

Try to be professional, but not too overdressed. Slack, shirt and a tie would make you alright.
Wish you luck

This is what you should wear:

Just don't be the guy that showed up at LMU-DCOM a while back. He had a black shirt and suit. He had the shirt unbuttoned 3 buttons down and had both his shirt collar and suit lapel popped up... it was bad.

I have never heard of being wait listed without an interview prior..is this common, and did you do a phone interview or was it post secondary waitlist no need for interview kinda deal???

I did the secondary of course, but I didn't do a phone interview or anything. The e-mail telling me I was on the waitlist sounded like they didn't always do that, but I'm guessing they do.

Oh and by the way the only other guy there wore a shirt, tie and slacks too.
