what should i ask my recommender to write for me? of course he/she will comment on the fact that i am a good student, good work ethics, reliable etc. but what else need to be brought up to make me "stand out"?

What I did was hand in my personal statement, transcripts, and resume to my evaluators, and they could add in things based on those. I also met with them for about 15 minutes and tell them about my goals, aspirations, and a little bit about me to get a better sense of who I am and where I want to go.

i don't mean this in any bad way. But shouldn't your evaluator already know you really well considering you probably worked for him/her for a considerable period of time?
i guess more importantly, i am asking what are the qualities seen in dentists? so that the evaluators can sneak them in the LOR 😛

Well although I did know my evaluators to a degree, it was not really on a much personal level. The reason being is that my science courses had anywhere from 50 - 300 students in the class, so it was hard to get to know professors on such a personal level. That is why I suggested the meeting in my previous post. If you did well in the class and showed up at office hours or such, they could mention that and that you took initiative in coming to their office to ask questions, etc. I really don't know what else a professor would write, but I know I had a good LOE from the dentist I shadowed, who knew me a lot better and could include things I did during the time I shadowed him.
