worst part bout living in ny is that the only state school which gives preference to ny residents is stony, which has a class of 35 and a dat average of 22. buffalo told me they dont have preference for instate students. how crazy is that.

I'm not a kid son

...first to say it

Seriously Buff is out of their minds. They had the nerve to not even give me an interview. Flat out rejected my sorry @$$. Not that I would have went there anyway even if they accepted me pshhhhhhhh 😎

However buff's instate/outstate ratio is 47 / 39 so they do give preference to instate since more than half of their students come from this state. Still, I hate them

Well, they knew you'd go elsewhere 🙂

i spoke to a woman on the phone yesterday, and she told me that they dont give preference to instate. it doens't help you at all. ive been told this before by them too when i spoke to them like 6 months ago. its crazy.

lol I've been trying to tell myself that to "ease the pain", but seriously? I don't think thats a good reason to flat out reject someone. So based on that logic, if I had a 4.0GPA and a 30AA I'd probably be rejected by everyone.

Then how do they explain the 47/39 in/out state ratio? 47 people from one state and 39 people from the other 49 states? I'm no statistics major but I'd say for that to be a mere coincidence year after year is highly unlikely.

I remember them specifically saying during the interview at Buffalo that they give slight preference to New York residents...

I think it was either the dean or admissions officer.. I forget.. But they did say this.

This year at the interview, the Buffalo lady said that in previous years they did not give NY a preference, but they had to disclose that they were going to do it this year.

Yes nydds25 hit it on the head. Exactly how it went down at the interview
