Mine will probably be around 3.3-3.5.

Is that a good GPA to start out with? I'll definitely be picking up the pace in my second term.

What I mean by first term is...first year of college, fall term.

I had a 4.0 my first semester. Then when I shifted into science courses, things became harder and my GPA dipped steadily each year...still not bad overall. I think a lot of people work their way up actually. I wouldn't worry about anything at this point, just try to focus on how you'll do in the future since you have plenty of time.

Mine was awful, and it got worse before it got better. After 2 years, it was 1.47 :scared:, but then I busted my tail and got it up to 2.62 (cum). My last 2 years were advanced bio & chem courses with lots of A's. It's the only way.

Yes a 3.3 is actually very good for your first semester of college. I started with about a 3.2 my first semester freshman year and have climbed steadily to a 3.74 cumulative my senior year.

After the first term of my business degree I had a 2.9. Upon going back for my prerequisites I have a 4.0. Things are extremely easier the second time around after you get the college experience out of your system.

After my entire first Year I had a 2.8 gpa. I opted to stay a 5th year. My last three years were a 3.98 (damn A-'s) in all of my upper-division science work. Growing up is a funny thing.

I may have the lowest of those on these boards...

1.18

Right now my first semester will be around a 3.47, I got a "C" in Chemistry. 🙁

3.3 is great.

just remember you have about 105 more units to take to bring up your gpa. 😉

3.62 after my first year in college.

It was a bad idea for me to take 18 hours and have bad teachers during my second semester.

mine was 3.5 and then I started to take science coures and it has been steady around 3.9-4.0. Gee, I never liked those humanity courses.

3.75. There was a conspiracy at my college where all my profs gave me A- for 3 straight terms.

3.1 overall. I took biology and chemistry in my first semester and wasn't accustomed to the difficulty and ended both with Cs. The following semester, I busted my butt and ended with a 3.98. My current overall gpa as a sophomore is 3.5

3.8, then slowly declined each progressing semester as the classes got tougher.

There are A minues and pluses in colllege???

ooh mine was prob a 2.8! But then it got better as I went through college..for me, it took a lot of getting used to (obv not for those of you with 3.8s 🙂)

Yes many universitys use A- B+ system, while others use AB B BC system. Not all though.

I transferred from a university with the +/- system to one that only goes by the 10 point scale. I LOVE it....a 90 shows up as an A+ on PharmCAS!

I always count my blessings that I went to a school that used only the straight scale, no funky pluses and minuses. My GPA would have been lower otherwise. The one class I took which required 94% for an A was terrible! I barely squeaked by with 94.2%.

...My GPA after my first semester was 4.0, and stayed that way until I graduated.

Doesn't PharmCas calculate your A- to be an A anyway? Just curious... I too went to a straight scale school but transferred and now am taking all classes that a 94% is required for an A. Ugh!

I am taking 3 classes right now so I can adapt to the new university environment. I would probably get around 3.0 or 3.3 (If I get an A in Brit/Lit, Chemistry is most likely to be a B and Core Composition might be a B) by the end of this semester. I only have like 3 weeks left though! 😱

2.9 my first semester.
