MS4 here, doing an away at an academic institution. I need a LOR because my school doesnt have an ED program.

I've done about 1/2 of my scheduled shifts so far (8/15) and theres only been a couple of attendings that I've worked with more than once. I work with the PD during 1/2 of an upcoming shift.

Which would be best for my residency application?
1. Ask the faculty member with whom I've worked 3 shifts, who is not the PD, but who was very complimentary.
----if so, as her do complete an SLOR or regular LOR?
2. Ask the PD after our 1/2 shift that is upcoming, and I assume he'd use the various evals that have been filled out on me thus far.

Thanks!

I would go with the letter from the attending that knows you best. It is also sometimes possible to have a PD or chair sometimes cosign a LOR to help in the cause if they have met you as well. I know Denver used to do this. I don't know if they still do.

id volunteer to do an extra shift with the PD and then ask for a SLOR.
