I had a personal crisis come up during one of my semesters and I ended up getting a very bad grade. For this particular semester:
Chemistry II: D
Chemistry II Lab: A
Biology Lab:A
Biology II:B
Non-science, 3 credit: A
I've been told that the only way I can apply for retroactive withdrawal is if I withdraw from all of my courses that semester- which means I would have to retake my biology series. The only reason my Chemistry is so low is because I missed an exam, and then the class retake on another exam. I should have gotten an A in Bio II (I was .5 points away) but I'm not sure that it's worth retaking especially considering that professor is writing one of my best LORs.
What should I do? Keep appealing the decision? Withdraw from the semester and have to retake Biology? I could get it all finished during this next summer session and be back at square one, if necessary. It would raise my GPA, but how would it be viewed by medical schools that I essentially dropped a whole semester?
Any advice would be appreciated.
