What would you do if you were a soon-to-be third year internal medicine who has matched into anesthesia and has no plans on ever practicing internal medicine?

Would you finish your third year of medicine so that you can get board certified, or would you get a job and enjoy life for one year free of all the administrative BS and scutwork?

Hmm, is there anyway that finishing that one year could actually help you? It would really be nice to enjoy one year of your life and make some money before starting another several years of residency!

I can't give you advise, unfortunately. But you have a lot of guts and drive to go for it. I am sure making the change from medicine to anothe field was tough as well as matching. Good luck and I wish you well in whatever you do. 😀
