Seroquel for PTSD related sleep disorders is not the same as seroquel for insomnia.

On the other hand, 1600mg is quite a large dose to be given for PTSD. Especially when given in concert with other drugs that may have interactions.
 
Perhaps it's very wrong of me to view these drugs this way, but I view Seroquel and Abilify as "novelty drugs." I hardly ever use them or see them used with much success for true Schizophrenia or overt psychosis. However, they appear to help alleviate various symptoms (insomnia, irritability, lability, etc.) in many patients that are already on other medications. Plus, pts like these medications. Seroquel has a reasonable street value these days. I'm at the VA now. If you did not get your bottle of Seroquel on the way out the door, then the pharmacist must had forgotten some of your meds.
