What's a good % to get right in UWorld to pass a shelf?

You know, like how for the Step, the % right correlated well to how well you do in Step 1. I'm doing Uworld questions for IM, and the best I've ever done was a 40%. Obviously, I feel like I'm gonna fail since If I can't get half right(and the average is 60%), I'm screwed. I have like 6-7 weeks till I take the shelf, so I still have time, but part of me is panicking because:

1) I've never taken a shelf before
2) I feel like I don't understand it as much since I'm getting things wrong
3) I need to probably study 4 hours a day to pass.

1) You have plenty of time - just make sure you understand every concept you get wrong, if you don't refer to a real book and not Step Up to Medicine to better explain it

2) My friend started off in the 30's and 40's and got an 80 on the shelf. Just keep at it

You have to think that a lot of the people on UWorld are doing it for Step 2, so they have already had IM and taken their shelf. They may have already completed UWorld once! I started off IM in UWorld horribly. I don't remember my exact percentage, but I do know my final IM percentage was a 63%. Sounds pretty bad, right? Well, it still got me 92%ile on my IM shelf. You are doing the right thing by doing UWorld. Keep hammering it. There were things I saw on UWorld, and I was like WTF? Then I saw them on my shelf and immediately knew the answer. Don't get too bogged down in percentages. Just think of it as a learning tool and stick with it. Good luck!

I think that you are safe at 50% or higher. as the previous poster stated you are competing against avgs of ppl that have already taken the rotations who are studying for step 2 or are doing it twice (taken the rotation + studying for the step2 now).
