What's considered a high script count?

I work at a grocery store pharmacy chain. We do about 300 scripts/day. I know some people in my pharmacy complain about how high the script count is, but it seems pretty normal to me? I know of some slower pharmacies that do only ~100/day, but then I also hear about these monstrosities that are doing 500-700/day. I was just curious what everybody's opinion was on a high count per day.

I suppose most of it has to do with how much tech help you have to get through the load. We're a bit understaffed right now and keep falling behind.
 
I’d consider high volume to be a volume where a patient can call to deal with an issue 4 times during one day and never talk to somebody with a clue about the prior calls.

It’s even higher volume if that somebody with no clue about the prior calls is the same person all 4 times
 
Anything over 600 /day is high volume.

300/day is cake.
 
I would put high volume at anything above 500/day. But so many factors go into wether it "feels" high volume. How much help you have, how needy your patients act, phone calls, etc.

Also the hours of the pharmacy.

I worked in an 8a-12a that dud about 1,200 per day.

It was a relaxing and fun place to work.

Exactly. The store I'm in now does 160 a day, down from 600 a day at my previous store. I'm with one tech all day and we have a drive thru. It makes things a bit tricky without the help, regardless of the volume.
 
My store only does 500 a day but it feels like 600+ since there seems to always be 3+ phone calls at all times no matter how fast u answer them, and u r afraid to answer them cause it seems it's always something that takes forever to resolve while the lines get backed up

Ugh 160 with one tech AND a drive thru? That must be hella rough.

That's very true. Like I said, we're a bit short staffed (more so than normally) so things keep piling up. There are some days where we only get to the waiters and don't even touch the other scripts.

Is there overlap? 300/day with needy - technology challenged patients, overlap with a scattered and slow pharmacist and subpar technicians can feel like a war zone.
500 with a robot? Why are you missing basic details here?
