have very many of you heard from usc? apparently there pretty fast in their application reviews, so i don't know i should take it as a bad sign that i haven't received **** from them

i'm stil waiting, too. i'm an august mcater, though.. but that makes it almost 3 months now for me. i called them and they weren't that helpful in that they just said that if my status page said i was complete, i was being reviewed - but they didn't bother looking me up or anything, so i'm pretty sure that was a generic answer. i sent them an email though and i'm supposed to get an answer in 3 - 5 days.

Its not a bad sign if you haven't heard from them. They are still inviting for interviews. I think they hold off on rejections til the end tho. So if you are ultimately going to be rejected you won't know til much later. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

sounds about right

I got my invite like feb of last year, and I think they were still asking up until march, so you have plenty of time. I'd estimate they have only interviewed about 45% of the applicants so far.

does it help at all to give them a call b/c i haven't heard a thing from them either???

sc hasn't updated me on my app since i submitted my secondary in august....argghhh.

i've tried calling usc, but i have to admit that of all the medical schools that i have applied to and have followed up on, usc is the least responsive to my questions, and really seem indifferent and vague about student concerns...that may just be my understanding though

Well...what do you expect them to tell you? What exactly did you ask them? They don't reject til the end. So if you haven't received an interview then your file is still under review.

On the contrary, USC seems really concerned about students' concerns. I think the curriculum was changed because of students' opinions. But you're right...if you aren't a student there then don't expect much info from their admissions office. All they can tell you is that you are still under review.

That totally depends on what your question is. i.e. is it the Do I have everything turned in vs the What is happening to my application. No school wants or will tell you what is going on with the app because the mojority of the people who are asking that question prolly are in the rejection file and you will find out in good time. I'm willing to bet the person who answers the phone couldn't even get access to that information if they wanted to.

It definately is an absolutely great curriculum. If anything, I would say that we are pampered here as medical students. (i.e., get our own desks with ethernet access, tons of mentors, feedback from tests immidiately with explainations about why they deleted certain questions if we complain, etc)

Ya...I liked the desks...they were big desks too...not some dinky cubicle.
