Great Environment
Cooperation encouraged by faculty and administration
Dean who comes to school in skate shoes and cargo pants (You've got to meet Dr. Dillenberg)
No competition between students
No specialty programs to steal all the fun cases
Brand New Facilities (KAVO electric handpieces, all digital radiographs)
Innovative Modular Curriculum
NBDE Part I after 1st year
Sunny 80 degree temperatures in January
Exposure to Public Health related topics
Since we're new, the admin and faculty actually listens to our input

That still really doesn't do this place justice. If possible come and check us out. PM me and I can give you a tour.

Pretty much what the Loco Dentista said. I was so very impressed by the facilites. Absolutely beautiful. I would really pattern my office after some of the stuff they have there. I like the idea of taking boards after first year and the way everything is paperless/textbook-less/wireless. The idea of taking just one class at a time appeals to me as well. You'd have to build up your stamina for studying one subject, but I'd rather do that than have 4-5 tests on totally different subjects landing on me all at the same time. It's a nice place to live although it's hotter than hell in the dead summer. Other than the couple months where you can't do anything outside, it's really nice. By now, they should have figured out most of the bugs in the new program. You would be much better off than their current 3rd or even 2nd years. Better off by far. The students I spoke with were very cool and very friendly.

Con's? Well, the cost is high compared to an in-state school. It's new, so there are bound to be a few hiccups. It's "different" and they pride themselves on that. They know it's not for everyone and that is probably a reason for their rigorous interview. When I say "rigorous" yes I do mean much more stressful most other interviews. They also have more applications so far than any other school. One quarter of all applying students have applied to ASDOH (or so they told me). It's going to be incredibly competitive.

Just wondering if you have any idea how other dental programs and their faculty view ASDOH as it is a new school with a new curriculum? Do they view ASDOH in a positive or negative light (i.e. Will they see ASDOH students as qualified enough should they choose to apply to a specialty after four years?)

If Arizona is so good, why did they suppress comments in Dental School Interview Feedback section on this site? This tells me that either a) they don't want others to know what the interview process is like there or b) they don't want students to see what kind of horrible comments are being said about them. Just a thought.

You'd think that but that's not the case. I have had my doubts about the school in the past since I live 10 minutes from the school and hear the rumors. The school is great and so are the students. I was pissed last year at the interview because I felt like there was no way to know the answers but that is not what they are looking at. Sure, they want you to know a majority of it but they are more concerned with how you react and what kind of person you are. I have 2 close friends in the d1 class and they honestly like the school and both of them got accepted to many schools that appeared to be much harder to get in to. The rumors are mostly false, I won't say all because I don't know all of them but in terms of accredidation let that one rest because it's not gonna be a problem. I interviewed this year and it's impressive. The philosophy of the school is a bit weird in terms of other schools but the theory behind it is right on the money. The interview is blocked because they don't want people posting the current events and geography questions for the applicant the next day so the next person get's them all right. In fact if your smart you won't post em either since we are all competing and who wants the guy in front of you to have a leg up. Most schools ask the same questions so need need to hide them. Hope that helps and go to the interview with an open minded opinion, if you get one since they are gonna interview 250 only.
