One of the teachers at my school I've talked with a few times thought I should go into medicine because I have showed a little bit of interest.
She thought I would make a good surgeon because of my technical background and attention to detail. I do like taking thinks apart and fixing them, and I have a knack for it (if I get something apart it will go back together again, usally better than how I found it).
But I also think I'd be fun to be a psychiatrist. When I was in high school i used to think I'd become a therapist, but I never really considered med school because I thought it was too much school (funny how your ideas change over time).
So you guys seem to think that surgery and radiology and IM are "procedural" fields, and I guess psychiatry is something different. How can I help get an idea what's good for me, because apparently they were two very different kinds of careers.
