In the past, the radiologists who worked at the VA were the ones who couldn't "hack" it in PP. Slow, lazy, uninterested in providing high quality care. Basically, they were the ones where the only place they could get hired/survive would be at the VA. This has recently changed and getting VA jobs have gotten more competitive, as PP work conditions have deteriorated (sky high volumes, declining reimbursements) in the past 10 years. With the job market experiencing a reversal in the past 12 months, I wonder if getting a VA job will become less competitive again.
