It seems a little tough to tell the difference based on the description. But in terms of you what you probably want from them, either of these books should be sufficient.

I think this one (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1577540972/ref=nosim/studentdoctor-20) actually has all the school data, whereas the other one just tells you about applying and blah blah, it doesn't contain all the information about each individual school.

Just buy it online on the AAMC website. The online version was much better, IMO. And it's not that expensive.
