now im going over some notes in kaplan about simple reflexes. and according to chapter 13 (animal behavior), it says that its a 2 neuron system with and afferent neuron that then hits an efferent neuron (musle/gland). but i rmember in chapter 7 (neuroscience) it says, there are also interneurons that exist between the 2 in simple reflexes (therefore this is a 3 neuron system). i tried looking it up but it rly didnt clarify anything. can someone explain to me which one is for a simple reflex and what the other one is for?

A reflex that does not involve an interneuron is a simple reflex (such as the myotatic reflex..i.e. knee jerk).
