Can't tell if this is a silly question or not but from your opinion what would you think.

Made up Scenario:

Obama Unicorn Medical School (again, made up lol idk)

Statistics show a natural preference for in-state applicants though no heavy bias or anything out of the ordinary. (Say 65% In-state 35% Out of State)

MCAT Avg: 31
cGPA Avg: 3.65
sGPA Avg: 3.55

Student 1: Out of State, MCAT 32, cGPA: 3.7, sGPA: 3.60

Student 2: In-State, MCAT 30, cGPA: 3.50, sGPA: 3.55

Both have decent ECs.

Which one you think has a higher chance?

depends, some schools dont accept OOS period

either way it's impossible to say with hypothetical situations like that since there is so much more at play than just stats. however obviously it's better to have good stats than not

Haha i see. Yeah I was talking about the schools that do accept both. Just wanted to know which have a stronger effect, slightly higher numbers as an out of state or being in state. But yeah true, I guess its a very subjective question. Thanks
