Probably going to get a lot of biased responses here since we're all rocking in the fetal position at this point and checking SDN all day long to see if scores are up, but whatever . . .

So anyway, what do you all think is worst:

1) The 'Chase' for Step 1 immortality or

2) The 'Wait' while hoping that it all didn't end in massive defeat after getting hit by the NBME guys' driving Mack trucks

Here's the way I look at it:

Why the 'Chase' is better=You at least have some control over your fate--as long as there's enough hours left in the day, you can listen to Goljan audio as much as you want or keep cramming those lysosomal storage disorders

Why the 'Chase' is worse=There's a lot to know and you're just hoping that knowledge in>knowledge out

Why the 'Wait' is better=vacation, not studying from wakeup to bedtime, having the beast over with (regardless of outcome)

Why the 'Wait' is worse=see above about nervousness manifesting itself in fetal position and compulsive SDN checking

***I'm really just trying to avoid studying Ob/Gyn stuff (and am amazed at how low my ability to absorb info has dropped after throwing myself at Step 1), but I'm curious what everyone else thinks since pretty much every post is about how nervous we all are.

at least I wait at a ballgame, out at dinner with some friends, or at the local pub during Two dollar pint Tuesdays...

Studying all day everyday just sucked far more than I ever thought it would. At least during the wait for the score, I have q3 in-house call to keep me occupied!

Yeah, to me, the chase was much worse. I try not to worry about things that are out of my control. Therefore, I'm not stressing out about my test score. I'm looking forward to seeing it.... and then will just take things from there - but theres no point in letting it consume me at this point in time.

chase was infinitely worse. not that the wait is great. the chase ruined my life, mostly because I let it, but it still sucked royally. As for the wait, I've earned back some portion of my sanity during this time, which is good news all 'round.
