Not meant to be patronizing or anything, but was just curious about when folks are getting to bed in anesth. Didn't find any relevant threads, but post a link if they're there. (I used "sleep", "bedtime", and "wake-up.")

Anyway, I've been waking up around 5:15 these days to get to school on time (8AM classes + 1:15 commute). So, I go to bed between 9:15-10:45, with the average being around 10. Anesth./surgery are early morning specialties, so I'm just wondering what time people go to bed, get up, and roll into work. Thanks!

gym by 1730
home by 1830-1900
eat by 1930
chill a bit, sleep by 2000-2100

Life is good

Go to bed around 9:30, wake up at 5, work by 6. I usually do the same on the weekends (except the work part) because I enjoy a quiet house in the mornings and my little ones usually get up by 6. I just reread this post and decided that I am a very boring person.

I'm pretty impressed with some of the folks who get like 6 hours of sleep a night. I can do that for half a week or so, but by Friday I'm dragging. I like ~7, then shoot for more on the weekends.

Up at 0530, run to work
Work 0630- 1600-1700
Run home
Study or drink single malt
Bed at 2130.

I need 8 hours, at least. I can get by on less but I feel I do a better job at work (am sharper) when I get 8. 9 or more is awesome.

I prob need to sleep more because of my running volume

Baby. Bed by 9. Up at 2-3am. Feed for 30 min. Back to bed. Thank god for 4th year, sleep until 5 or 6.

Up at 5:30. To bed at 1200. Just a night owl.

So are anesth. attending generally working a 12 hour day? It seems like a lot of the posters are rolling into work around 5-6 and leaving around 5-6. That's longer than I expected.

i must also be really boring because my weekday schedule is exactly the same. up at 5am, at work at 6am, go to bed at 9:30pm. I wish I could get by on less sleep, but I just can't. after a day or two, i'm just cranky.

weekends i usually sleep until 9am or so saturday and then it's back to being a little earlier again on sunday (7am-ish)

Bedtime for me is usually after the 2nd segment of the Daily Show, or after the beginning of the Colbert Report if there's a good guest on The Daily Show. So, ~10:20-10:40, I guess.

I do exactly the same thing, except the Daily Show starts at 11:00 here, not 10:00. And although I could DVR it or watch in on Hulu, there's just something about seeing it new.

Last week's Cramer stuff was great.
