When are LOR requests sent out?

Should I expect that the requests were sent when I entered my recommenders' contact information, or will they be sent only when I submit my application?

They're sent out when you enter the contact info. My professor told me he received an email from OptomCAS about 2 days after I entered his info, and I haven't submitted my application yet.
