When are the earliest possible residency interviews?

Most programs will not start interviewing until November.

I received one or two invitations for late October. I wouldn't schedule anything later than October 15th to be on the safe side.

My fiancee and I want to get married during 4th year, and I'm looking at the month of October, but I don't want to have to turn down any interviews because of our wedding. Would the first or second weekend in October be okay? So far, the information I have leads me to believe that no residency interviews would be scheduled that early.

I wouldn't say that no residency interviews would be scheduled in October since I had several that were in early October (I interviewed for Surgery). I was done by the end of November anyway. Most interview invitations give an option of choosing from several dates. Just pick one that does not interfere with your plans.

No...for example, the Urology Match opens in June, with the deadline to apply in December, and match in January.

Out of all the programs I applied to (g-surg, 25 academic programs), only one had an interview date in October (and that was october 30th).

When njbmd applied for the surgery match, dinosaurs roamed the earth and the Gregorian calendar was not invented hence the difference in time. 😀

when you say that the uro match opened in june, applicants were able to start submitting then? if the uro programs go thru eras isn't it still Sept 1st as the opening date?

Uro doesn't use ERAS/NRMP, they run their own (AUA) match, completely separate from NRMP. They can use whatever dates they want.
