Do you write the OAT after your 2nd year because I see you need orgo chem for the OAT, and for waterloo does it matter to them how many times you take it?

Take the test after you have taken:
Physics 1+2
Biology 1+2
General Chem 1+2
Organic 1+2

If want you take it before you have taken these classes, preparation time should be much longer.

I don't think the schools necessarily care how many times you take the OAT, but you are spending a decent amount of cash every time you take it, and having to take it several times to get a good score doesn't look good. Wait until you have the majority of the covered classes under your belt, study hard, and plan to take it once and only once.

I recommend taking them junior year. I have read on some optometry school websites that they will take first 3 OAT grades only.

The OAT costs something like 200 bucks to take. So um, don't plan on taking it a bunch of times because you won't have any money left! Study and do well the first time.

Most people take it during or after their third year.
