I'm planning a trip and need some advice (and not about hotels!).

I submitted my AMCAS last week and waiting for verification, which I hope will come this week. All my letters of rec are either in or on the way. Lastly, I've already started drafting secondaries based on last year's prompts.

My question is about the timing of the application process from this point forward. None of my schools screen, so I hope to have all my secondaries complete by the middle of July. When do schools start interviews? Is there any reason I would have to be in the country between my last secondary and (hopefully!) my first interview?

Given my circumstance, would it be advisable to go away at the end of July or beginning of August or end of August?

Thank you very much!

Very few schools interview before September. For confirmation, call all the schools you applied to asking their first interview date. Then, if you finish all your secondaries by mid-July, you have 45 days to do things you hope your interviewer does not find out.

Agree. Given your timeframe, earlier is better. Make sure you keep up with e-mail and have someone that can get your regular mail in case something exigent pops up.

I've also heard that the second half of December is pretty safe, and by the end of February everything should be cooling down (and hopefully, you'll have your acceptance!)
