When can I submit the 2012 ACCOMAS application

In the past I've heard that the application opens May 1st and you can submit June 1st. However, I just had someone tell me that as of last year you can submit on May 1st when AACOMAS opens.

Anyone out there know which date is correct?

Yes, the app opens in early May and you can start typing stuff in there. Also, you can go ahead and get transcripts sent in May.

Nope, you can't submit until early June. What that person may have been thinking of is what happened to me last year. I had all my transcripts in well before June 1st. I was surprised but AACOMAS actually verified my grades before June. So, on on the date around June 1st that submissions began I submitted my primary and it got to the school super fast!

Definitely do it as soon as you get the chance 🙂 but take your time on your autobiography essay and really be passionate (not to sound corny)

I couldnt cuz I had to retake BIO 2 in the summer and everyone was getting secondaries a month ahead of me. I mean it didnt make a difference in the long run for me but still.

Why didn't you just submit with a "retake in progress" and update it when you got your grade? That's what I was planning on doing this year.

Basically because I am Canadian. I have to send my transcripts to some stupid educational place to "convert" my transcripts as if Im from Cambodia lol

And this costs like $400 or something ridiculous so I didnt wanna do it twice (an updated grade would have to be converted

ps our grading system is exactly the same and its totally a money scheme😛

Where did you graduate from? Quebec?

According to the instructions on AACOMAS, if the transcript is in English, you don't have to. I sent my Univ of Waterloo transcript right in, and they converted it without hesitation. I called beforehand to UW to make sure there was a percent to GPA conversion table with the transcript, but yeah, no problem at all. Same thing with AAMC.

If you look at last year's thread I know some people got verified before paying/submitting their app to AACOMAS. I'm hoping that happens again this year

Oh and on the website "AACOMAS Application for 2012 will open at 12 noon, Eastern Time, on May 5, 2011."
