I was just curious to see when the bulk of applicants on the forum applied to DO medical schools (primary applications).

Also, feel free to mention how your status has been thus far in the application season. Or the outcome of your previous application season.

I applied in June. Pretty substandard GPA (3.26 cGPA, 3.08 sGPA), above average MCAT (32Q), and good ECs (research w/international conference presentation, lots of music extracurriculars including performing at Carnegie hall, lots of leadership, philanthropy, and work experience). I've had 7 interview invites thus far, been to 3 of the interviews, had 2 acceptances and will hear back from the third school this week or next week.

I'm pretty sure if I applied in August, I wouldn't have been accepted anywhere, so the moral of the story is, apply early.

*However, it is worth mentioning that I received all my secondaries in mid July, and sent them all out late August/early September. I do not recommend this, lol.

I was busy with summer school, so I had to take my MCAT mid-August, then finished my primary on 8/29. Released 10/5. 13 secondaries out currently since Sunday, and the wait begins....
What killed me was the month waiting for my grades to get verified through September. If I would have known I could have changed *anything* on my AACOMAS after submitting, I woulda submitted to one school in June just to get it started. Oh well, live and learn 🙂
