Question for all USMLErs/COMLEXers:
When did you guys use FA?
As an incoming MS1, I just wonder that when is the best time to use FA? and how do I use it as a supplement to my first 2 years if I choose to use it now.

Thanks

Definitely use it for Embryo, Biochem, and M2 courses. Other than that, everything is mixed around so it's not quite as easy to get through. Many people swear by annotating first aid if something is missing from there if you come across it in your coursework and think it is important. Personally, I hate writing in my books but it probably helps having all the info in one book. Others cut out charts or good notes and put them into the book if they were good.

You'll probably want BRS Phys, Clinical Microbiology Made Ridiculously Simple, and BRS Path also to use with your courses. For anatomy, it is up to you and school-dependent. You need a picture and photo atlas along with something to learn the clinical questions.

I wouldn't even think about using it my first year. first of all, it won't have nearly enough detail for virtually every first year subject. second, if you annotate stuff from your first year classes you will literally ruin the book because you'll add a ton of unnecessary details that won't matter for the boards, so when you go back to the first year subjects you won't know what is and isn't important. chill out on the boards stuff, you'll have plenty of time second year to worry about it
