If you're applying this cycle, you should ask ASAP because it's generally polite to give your professors at least three weeks to write a letter and you'll want the letters to be ready by July. Ordinarily, you want to ask soon after you take a class with that professor so they won't forget about you.

If you're applying this cycle, you should have started asking last month, so I guess now would be the best answer. You've only got a week or two until the cycle opens.

IF ur not applying this cycle... I would ask them right after u have taken the class with them, when they know you and remember you the most... no matter how early it is. It is never too early

Whether your applying this year or next year.... the best time to ask for LOR is when you are still fresh in the professor's memory (right around the time semester ends)....
