when do i take the dat and apply

im going to be a junior and im not sure when i am supposed to take the dat (and kaplan for that) and apply. when is the usual time? i was planning on taking kaplan a month before my junior year so that i can just concentrate on that with out having to worry about classes too and then take the dat in the very beginning of the semester to get it over with does that plan sound ok 😕

you have the right idea my man. since you just finished soph year, i'm assuming you've done g.chem and o.chem, correct? while taht's still fresh, you should take the kaplan course in june, give yourself 2 months to prepare(hardcore) and take at end of july. you'd prolly be busy in the very beginning of the sem. you don't want that extra crap to distract you. summer is the best time. go for it!

i think sometime around march of junior year is the best time to take it, that way you have more classes under your belt but are still early enough to be able to retake it in time for early application. you could take the kaplan course and do most of your studying over winter break and then take the DAT on your spring break after reviewing for a few days.
