When do Interviews start?

I apologize as I know this has been asked before, but I am unable to locate those threads through a general search.

I am applying to MD/DO Mid June when my MCAT results. I am trying to coordinate my work schedule and am also planning to take a class July-early August. My MD friend told me not to be concerned as schools don't begin interviewing until September. Is this true? I don't want to make myself unavailable to interview if they do interviews throughout the summer, but I also don't want to not work full time waiting on an interview, either. Thank you.

At least some begin in August. You should be able to re-schedule, if needed, though.

I think it would absolutely be safe. Most of my interviews didn't even come in until after October. Worst case scenario, you speak with the admissions office and request a later date.

Interview invites at the eairlest happen in mid /early August, but you usually schedule them or they schedule them for you a few weeks ahead of the invite

At my school, classes missed for interviews are excused if you just provide proof that you were there.

Lucky, my grades tanked because of it. I had to miss an exam
