When do residencies find out who matched there?

It seems I recall reading that they find out who matched with them a day or so earlier than we do. Is that correct? They wouldn't find out this early would they?

I ask because I just got an email from a program about a new residents welcome event and just want to make sure this doesn't have anything to do with were I matched.

I thought programs were forbidden from contacting applicants once rank lists were in??
