I have a general question about applying. If you submit your primary in early June, when do schools start sending out secondaries? Also, how quickly should you turn the secondaries in?
Thanks.

End of June all the way through september, even october for Emory I think. Ideally you want to turn in the secondaries ASAP, but dont skimp on quality just to turn them in quick. I would recommend preqriting some of your essay topics.

Some schools will sent them to you as soon as you submit your AMCAS. Others will wait for AMCAS to be verified first and then send them. Still others take much longer than that for unknown reasons.

I think the unwritten rule is to turn them in within 2 weeks (1 week ideally).

yeah it varies, some schools send you them ASAP (the moment they even know you listed them on the AMCAS), others might have to screen you. mostly it's about 2-4 weeks, but other cases you can get granted a secondary months after the primaries.

with that said, pre-writing = a must. great start on time as well as polishing up quality. look up the essays from past cycles. you'll find that a very good number of them reuse questions and topics
