Hello people,
I will be a 1st year dental student I will be starting school this August but after I paying for moving, security deposits for housing, & school deposits, I'm serioulsy considering pawning all of my valuables including the computer I'm using right now
. I know that nationwide, August is about the time that all schools begin classes so I was hoping someone can give me even a CLUE as to when the loan money will get rolling into an ATM machine. July? August? September? Any feedback appreciated.

Typically, a week or so after classes start. Check with the financial aid office at your school.

Just got my loan disbursement date scheduled for 1 week before classes begin but it gave the option to push it back a month or two. Check with financial aid counselor at your school. Good Luck.

I realize the disbursement date for financial aid is usually around the time when classes begin.

However, when does your school generally tell you how much you are getting? I will be a first year dental student in August, I recently called my FAO inquiring about my FA package and I was told my file was complete but I wouldn't be notified of the amount I would receive until mid/ late - July. This makes it really hard to budget not knowing how much I will have. Is this a common practice for FAO's?
