when do we get the loans

I will be starting med school next fall and expect to receive about 35,000-40,000 dollars in loans. When do I receive those loans, few weeks after school starts? Do I recieve those loans in one large sum or do I get paid monthly or by semester? Thanks for the answers

I think you get paid by semester. So at the beginning of the school year, you'll get all your loan money for the first semester and you have to make it last until the beginning of the next semester, when you get your next loan.
