When does the AMCAS application usually open? Also, what is the difference between the AMCAS opening and when we can submit? For example, the AMCAS application opened on May 1st, 2018, but application submission was open on June 5th, 2018. Just planning out when to take my MCATs. Thanks in advance!

You were able to submit AMCAS on May 31st this year and on June 1st the year before. It opened the month before, on May 1, to begin filling things out and to request transcripts to be sent to the service. I think the best time to take the MCAT is in April so that you'll have the results back prior to submitting.

Even if you have to take in May, it isn't really a problem. You can be verified without the MCAT.
