orientation at most programs is usually 1-2 weeks prior to start date so mid June. If military residency, can be almost a monthRecently matched MS 4 here..
Just trying to figure out when I am expected to have residency orientation.
I assume all residency starts on July 1st?
Could be as early as June ~8 or as late as July 1. June 15 or 22 (for a 1 or 2 week orientation) is most common. I haven't heard of an orientation longer than 3 weeks.Recently matched MS 4 here..

Or later...If the crisis gets worse it's a possibility things could be pushed even earlier this year.
Nobody knows. Be prepared for absolutely anything at this point.Would this be more for medicine residents? I matched into a surgical sub and I don't see myself being that useful.
At the moment you and the future medicine intern are equally useful. They could put either of you on the medicine wards 😛Would this be more for medicine residents? I matched into a surgical sub and I don't see myself being that useful.
As an intern , you are the same moldable piece of flesh...and it’s not like you are in the OR that much as an intern anyway...usually doing pre/post op floor rounding.Would this be more for medicine residents? I matched into a surgical sub and I don't see myself being that useful.
