Title. I just tried to login to see if I needed to change anything from where I have PTE set up currently. Will this just convert from PTE to CTE? Or do I have to make another change away from PTE if that makes sense?

You have to change the designation yourself ( it’s not automatic)
If you want to stay on WLs and don’t hold more than one admission offer right now, you can wait to change it to CTE close to your current school’s deadline to do so

Got it. So everyone who does have multiple acceptances today must narrow that down to one today also? But you don't necessarily have to change from PTE to CTE if it is the same school already selected as PTE?

If you are satisfied with that school you can change it to CTE any time after today. Might be refreshing to end the uncertainty and start planning your move to your new city
Still want to be on WLs a little longer? Keep it as PTE

Dear Applicant,

We wanted to remind you about two important changes beginning today, April 30, with the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) Choose Your Medical School tool:

1. Accepted applicants will have two options to select in accordance with each medical school’s specific policies and deadlines: “Plan to Enroll” and “Commit to Enroll.”

Selecting “Commit to Enroll” indicates that you have made a final selection and withdrawn all other applications, including alternate list offers.
If you select “Commit to Enroll” to a school, all other schools where you hold an acceptance or alternate list offer will be notified but will not know the name of the school you selected.
Selecting “Commit to Enroll” does not automatically withdraw your applications from other medical schools. You must communicate directly with all schools about your final decision according to each school’s specific policy.

If you have a current “Plan to Enroll” selection, please be sure to review your selection on April 30.

2. Medical schools will begin to see applicant-specific information about each applicant’s Choose Your Medical School status for any applicant holding a current acceptance or alternate list position at the respective school.

As a reminder, applicants with at least one (1) current acceptance will be able to see and use the AMCAS Choose Your Medical School tool, including the Admissions Decisions Dashboard, which can be accessed via your AMCAS application. Please review the Choose Your Medical School Tool Guide for Applicants for step-by-step instructions.

Additionally, please remember to continue to follow school-specific policies and procedures, including their Choose Your Medical School tool requirements. The primary, official method of communication during this process takes place between you and a school. This tool is intended to supplement, not replace, that communication.
