when is the best time to take step 2ck?

Hi i am an AMG who just started his 4th year. I got a low step 1 score and was wondeirng when is the best time to take step 2 ck. I know I will have to do well on step 2 ck but am confused about the timing so it will show on my record for resdencies.

I was also confused about the changes in format that will result in all tests taken after august 2nd that will be reported on september 28 since they want to curve the test appropriately. I wanted to ask fi anyone on here ahd any advice on how to time the test? will it be a good idea jsut to take it later in this case?

The later you take it, the less impact it has. Programs DO SCREEN based on step scores, for which a Step 2 score can make the difference in getting you interviews. Ideally, you would have scheduled it for July. Being as that's out, you should probably do it as early in august as you can.

If you are absolutely 100% guarenteed not to have your score until September 28, no matter when you take it after August 2nd, take it at the end of august. But i would be damn sure thats the case. The longer you wait, the less impact it has.
