When should I apply?

When should I apply to Pharmacy School? I will be taking the PCAT (first time) in January 2013, which will be my junior year. Then I am planning on taking it again in July. The first cycle of applications being filled out for Dentistry schools are from May - July. What is the first cycle of applications due for Pharmacy schools and will I have time to take the PCAT second time around without having to sit a year out?

Next Summer. Not all schools take January PCATs for the current application cycle.

That is if you have all/most of your per-requisites done by then. I would look at each school individually & see the due dates though because each school is a little different.

2012 App cycle is from Jun-(Jan/Feb/March). This depends on the school, as they have different cut-off dates. Find the schools you want to apply to and read up on the admissions process on the websites. This will tell you what you need to know about cut-offs.

The Jan 2013 PCAT will be used by some schools, once again read up on admissions to find out if it is accepted or not.

If you are applying for the 2013 cycle, then the PCATs from Jan 13, July 13, Sept 13, and Jan 14* will be used.

Some schools will allow you to take pre-reqs up til the summer before admission, though this does not apply to all. Once again read the admissions page to find out this information.

Best advice is to google the schools you are interested in and read through the websites. This will answer most questions you have and you will be sure the info is correct, as not all information given in forums is completely correct.

Yeah I'm going to graduate in May of 2014. So I should start applying from the summer of 2013 for most schools, correct?
