I will be done with my Degree and Pre-Reqs on Spring of 2014, when should I begin applying to schools? Many of my friends told me to start applying (depending on the schools' deadline) during the fall of 2013 but I keep hearing different things.

PTCAS opens for the 2013/14 application cycle during the first week of July. If you have most pre-reqs, your observation hours/ pending hours and LoRs writers ready, the sooner you apply, the better.

As soon as possible. dont wait til the deadline.

You can get it done before the Fall semester starts if you plan it right. Then you won't have to deal with it while you have school going on.

Earlier usually = better.

ASAP, because you might have trouble obtaining those LORs, and your application might take awhile to be complete. If there's something wrong with your app, PTCAS will let you know and you'll have time to fix it before schools start to select candidates. Have everything ready to go by the Fourth of July.

If you want to start graduate school right after you complete your undergrad degree, definitely begin applying this coming summer. I will be graduating in May, and starting PT school in June. I started my PTCAS application in July even though I still had (and still have) to complete A and P 1 and 2. The programs that I have been accepted to all accept me on the condition that I complete these courses, but they accepted me nonetheless. As long as youve complete most of your pre-req classes when you begin your application and go on interviews, it's okay if you have one or two left to complete.

im in a similar situation. I am currently taking my prereqs at a cc nearby and should be done with all my classes by spring 2014. I plan on applying in the fall of 2013 because most schools allow courses to be in progress... but i was just wondering... does having a class left over hurt my chances of being accepted compared to those that are completely done by the fall? I will have one science class left to take in the spring of 2014 just fyi. Thanks!

as soon as you have all the requirements done and have put together a strong application. Don't rush to have it in by July just because the "earlier the better". It's important that you have a great essay and have secured good lor's. Definitely submit before September rolls around. I submitted in early Aug and spent about a good month on my essay. Come here to have people look over it for you. It's a crucial part of your app and can make up for bad gre/gpa...sometimes.

Plan ahead for your LOR writers to need a significant amount of time with their responsibilities, etc. They are very busy. Make sure you have all of your necessities to apply lined up and ready for July. The process really is not that bad if you are prepared.
