When should I take the DAT?

I registered already to take it June 6th, but I am reconsidering whether or not I should wait a little longer. I planned it that way so that I could study over the summer if I needed a retake, and could take it again in early Sept before I start getting into more schoolwork again. Problem is that I haven't started studying yet, and can only do some on some weekends until school ends (May 12th). That only leaves about 3 full weeks to study whenever I want.

Option 1: Should I take the chance and apply early, hoping I get the interview with my first score? Then I could take it again post interview if I feel the need. Or....

Option 2: Should I reschedule the test for the end of June/early July and give myself more time without distractions to study? That way I can hope I do well enough to get the interview and possibly not have to retake it.

i would take it in july so have more time to study. however, make sure u submit everyting else on aadsas. that's exactly wut i did last yr.

I would push it back. Why plan on a retake? Why not save yourself the $200 and just knock it out the first time.

When is the last day all scores can be sent to be notified on the first period (Dec 1st) ?

Not to beat a dead horse, but I would highly recommend taking it in the beginning of July. This gives you PLENTY of time to study and, if your results don't meet your expectations, you can still apply to your schools as planned and simply retake the DAT exactly 3 months later in October when the first round of interviews start. As far as signing up to take the DAT, I signed up ~1 week prior and was fine. Good luck on your studying!

This gives you PLENTY of time to study and, if your results don't meet your expectations, you can still apply to your schools as planned and simply retake the DAT exactly 3 months later in October when the first round of interviews start. As far as signing up to take the DAT, I signed up ~1 week prior and was fine. Good luck on your studying!
