I started studying for the DAT. I was thinking of taking the test mid March, and then again in Mid- June.

Is Mid June too late?

Do dental schools average both tests scores, or do they take the highest scores?

you probably shouldn't plan on taking it twice, study REALLY hard the first time around

dental schools see both scores (i.e. they know you took it twice), but usually sitting the test 2 times isn't too bad, but I still wouldn't rely on that because it is a pain

that said, I don't think Mid-June is too late, I think it takes 2 weeks to process, and your app takes 4 weeks or something and the cycle doesn't even open until June 3rd

I agree, study hard for the first test, then take it a second time only if you really feel like you could've done better. Good luck! 🙂

Here it is Jan. 16 and I am thinking about taking the test around June 1-3ish that way I can submit all my materials on around June 15-18ish to be in the first cycle. I plan on taking a Kaplan course because I want to be as safe as possible. I'm a full time student at University of Michigan right now so do you think I should start studying now while the semester is going or just wait till the semester is over (mid April) and then drop everything and study+Kaplan?

Thanks

I'm in the same dilemma right now and I'm really wondering about that too. If I start studying full-time for DAT, I won't do as well in my classes...
