Hi guys and gals,

I just have a quick question, when someone gets an interview, are they basically on the same "level" playing field as other interviewees? Say, for example a 4.0 GPA and a 3.0 GPA get interviews...is it basically whoever has the BETTER interview will get in?

i would like to know an answer to this question too. anyone?

each school has a different forumla.. that's true for some schools, but not others. I know SCCO has a points system for GPA, interview, and OAT. If you score over their magical point number.. you're in.

Most of the school reps. that came to my school said they do "blind" interviews, meaning they don't know anything about your academics. They have with them: your personal statements (essays), your extra curricular info, and the in-interview essay (depending on the school).

Pretty much, it's a clean slate for everyone once they're accepted for an interview. Which is good for me, b/c I definitely won't be getting in based on academics ;-)

The "magic #" is what gets you your interview. I believe that's what SCCO's rep. said.

look duracell,

the interviews are set up on a objective basis. data of the session is taken.

this data, in addition to the data from you application and grades is taken into account.

each school uses their 'magical' formula and poof...either you get in or get lost.

you could have a 2.7 gpa and get an interview, does this mean you are on the same playing field as the student with 4.0? Ya, right! only if the 4.0 student is mute and psycho. if both your interview results were identical, the 4.0 student would out rank you big time in the admissions game!

duracell....keep it tick'n
