when the name of your high school won't fit in the block...

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I had that problem. I abbreviated it keeping as many whole words as possible... and "high school" became "HS"

My high school was 4 words...so I ended up with "____ ____ High Scho"...I assumed they could figure out the rest themselves. 😀

Or they realized you're too lazy to check over your app and left out the "ol."

High scho looks very unprofessional and just shows you don't care. HS looks much better than High scho

You're kidding, right?

seriously, how can they "realize" she's "too lazy" when there literally isn't enough room to fit the name - mine has four words too, so that's the problem i'm running into. but i think i'm going to put down HS

In your personal statement, are you just gonna leave the last sentence

"I've wanted to be a dentist ever since high scho"

just because you ran out of room?

Okay, you ran out of room...great. Instead of leaving wods half cut off like a 5 year old, use your head and make a decision. Leave out the "High School" part of the name, abbreviate HS, do SOMETHING to show that you're not a complete idiot.

There's a hundred thousands of highchools out there, obviously many names are not gonna fit, especially those who attach the "High School" suffix. Doesn't take a genius to make a square peg fit in a round hole in this case. They're not gonna dwindle on the name of your highschool name, IF its edited right and doesn't look weird, and theyre not gonna track you down and see if you left the "high school" designation of your high school.

Would you rather see
Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King HS
Martin Luther King High

OR

Martin Luther King High Scho

IF I saw the last one, I'd take a second look quickly after reading the "scho", if I saw any of the first three I'd just pass over it, still knowing you ran out of room.

I heard on the grapevine that that specific section was sort of a litmus test for your problem-solving skills 😀

all right, all right, chill out. it was just a simple question. find something else to do.

LMAO, is this guy for real? It's not a big deal, and surely not one worth attacking me for...not to mention, I am pretty darn confident the rest of my application will help adcoms figure out that I am in fact, NOT 5 years old, and NOT a complete idiot. I am sure there are better things you can spend your time on then insulting complete strangers online!

Geez, who peed in americanpierg's cheerios!?!?!

IMO I don't think it matters how it looks when you spell it.. I'm pretty sure the ADCOMS will know what you mean when you put ".... ...... high scho"

Won't really hurt your application.. just make sure the other stuff doesn't have any misspelled words, especially the dentistry experience section. You don't want to look unprofessional by misspelling words in your future career!

I've double-checked, triple-checked everything...spelling has never been a problem for me, so I know everything else is good to go!

Personally, I think you are a complete idiot =)
