When to apply for loans?

Hey guys!
Alright so please don't laugh at me. I've never applied for a loan before and I frankly have no idea what I'm suppose to do. I was accepted into dental school and school starts sometime in mid-July. When should I apply for the loans I'm going to need to pay for dental school? And do I do that through FASFA?

Just apply through FAFSA and on the form they'll have you look up the dental school you're going to (it has a school code #) and that way FAFSA will send your information to the school. From there when it gets closer to time, your school will give you the loans available up to the cost of attendance (decided by the dental school for that year). So the short answer is just fill out FAFSA and it'll all get taken care of fairly easily from there as LSU will step in and tell you what to do! Hope that helped! 🙂
