I wanted some clarifications on the process of applying for a scribe position.

Does a scribe start date depend on how early you applied? In other words if I wanted to start in June it is best I apply 2-3 months before hand, maybe April. If I wanted to start in August then probably best to apply in May, ect. I know they offer the jobs on a rolling basis, but I just wanted to know if you can apply strategically based on a start date you had in mind.

Thanks

So I applied to my company in early June and heard back from them in late July to start in August (which is when I wanted to start). I actually thought they turned me down and just didn't notify me lol. I would say apply within at most two months from expected start date. It keeps your profile relevant so that you are not overlooked by newer apps yet still far enough out so that they are given enough time to appropirately review your profile. My area (St. Louis) is always looking for new scribes and applicant turnover has been high; not sure how it is in other regions. Hope this helps.

I applied early January with the intention of starting my part-time scribing commitment during the summer (mid-May). There's no way I can fit in the job with my spring semester schedule. I heard back in less than 24 hours that I'm put on the waitlist. A week later, I got notification from the hiring manager that he'd be interested in conducting an interview (30 minutes in person) close to my proposed start date. Ultimately, getting to the training and earning the position will depend if my area (Houston) will be fully staffed or not during the summer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that spots will open up.
