I was just admitted to med school today. I was wondering if I can fill out and submit the FAFSA before I receive the financial aid papers in the mail from my school. I've never filled it out before, and I wanted to get a head start since it is so late in the process. Can I do this?

Congrats!

It's probably best to get the fafsa done asap. Make sure that you do your taxes first so that you can enter in the correct information. You might need your parents' tax information as well. :luck:

You have to do it as soon as possible, in many schools priority deadlines are over but it doesn't mean anything you still can apply. Actually you could apply for FAFSA even before you were accepted.
So go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and you can get all the info and apply there. You can submit it even if your taxes are not done yet, you could change the info later online.
Good luck!

This is a duplicate post.

However, the FAFSA needs to be filled out in January or February, with the deadline being in March for most schools.

It needs to be done immediately.
